Super G Carpentry

I *LOVE* taking portfolio pictures for others' creative business endeavors.

I love getting right up close to what people are passionate about.

What they put their time, energy, and intention into.

The things people craft out of their loves, obsessions, interests, needs.

The things people build with their own hands.

Here are images from a new project: Super G Carpentry, a.k.a. Dan Ganch, a fine furniture maker based in Mt. Horeb, WI.

He has a website in the works. You can see the full set of images of his family, his workshop, and his work here.

Documenting the Procession

My friend Jet and I are working on a small documentary about the awesome Madison PROCESSION OF THE SPECIES. The community art project is fueled by many, but is directed and inspired by a woman-of-boundless-creative-energy, Laurie Rossbach.

The procession is a parade/party/performance art piece that is held twice annually to celebrate the solstices, bring art to the local community, voice left-leaning politics, and bring attention to environmental concerns.

Right now Jet and I are attending the workshops in which the giant puppets, mask-making, and brainstorming takes place. The workshops are open to the public and happen each Saturday and Wednesday leading up to the event.

A slideshow of my images from the workshops can be found here.
